Wi-Fi QR code generator

A Wi-Fi QR code joins a phone to your network without anyone reading out a password. Both iPhone and Android camera apps understand the format natively. Kizmo builds the code entirely in your browser, so the password never touches our servers.

Never leaves your browser.

Enter the network name (SSID).

How to set it up

  1. 1

Enter the network name exactly as it appears on your router, including capitals and spaces.

  2. 2

Choose the security type (almost always WPA/WPA2/WPA3) and type the password.

  3. 3

Download and print it near the counter, in rooms, or on the guest information card.

  4. 4

Test it with an iPhone and an Android phone that have never joined the network.

Recommended size

25 mm is enough on a card held in the hand; 50 mm or more on a wall sign.

What works

  • Use a separate guest network so the code never grants access to your till or cameras.
  • If you rotate the guest password, you will need a new printout: Wi-Fi details live inside the code itself.
  • Mark hidden networks as hidden, otherwise some phones will not find them.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Using a dynamic code for Wi-Fi. Phones read Wi-Fi details directly from the pattern, so a redirect link cannot connect them.
  • Typing the network name with different capitalisation. Network names are case-sensitive.

Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code?

The password is readable by anyone who scans the code, exactly like a password printed on a card. Use a guest network that is isolated from your business devices.

Does a Wi-Fi QR code work on iPhone?

Yes. Since iOS 11 the iPhone camera recognises Wi-Fi codes and offers to join the network. Android has supported them even longer.

Can a Wi-Fi QR code be dynamic?

No. The phone needs the network details in the code itself. Kizmo generates Wi-Fi codes as static codes, and they never expire.
