QR code for a PDF

A QR code cannot contain a PDF itself. It contains a link to where the PDF is hosted. Upload the file to your website or a file-sharing service, then point the code at that link. A dynamic code lets you swap in a new version later.

Bare domains are written in capitals inside the code, which makes it smaller. Paths keep their case.

Enter the web address the code should open.

We recommend a dynamic code for this

Change the destination after printing, see scans by placement, and get an alert if the code gets covered. It keeps working even if you stop paying.

How to set it up

  1. 1

Upload the PDF to your website or a sharing service and make sure the link opens without a login.

  2. 2

Paste the link into the generator.

  3. 3

Compress the PDF so it loads quickly on mobile data.

Recommended size

25 mm and up.

What works

  • When you replace the PDF, keep the same link or update the dynamic code's destination.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Linking to a file that requires sign-in, such as a private cloud drive link.

Does Kizmo host PDFs?

Not yet. Kizmo points your code at wherever the PDF lives, and a dynamic code lets you change that location at any time.
