The European Payments Council QR format (often called GiroCode) lets a customer pay an invoice by scanning it in their banking app. The IBAN, payee, amount and reference arrive pre-filled, which removes typos and speeds up payment.

## Steps

1. Enter the payee name and IBAN. Kizmo checks the IBAN checksum as you type.
2. Add the amount in euros and the invoice number as the reference.
3. Place the code on your invoice PDF, near the total.

**Recommended size:** At least 25 mm on printed invoices.

## Tips

- Many banking apps across the eurozone, especially in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Finland, read EPC codes. Always keep the IBAN printed in text as well.
- The format carries euros only.

## Common mistakes

- Putting a payment code anywhere the public can reach it unattended. Payment codes are prime targets for sticker fraud.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which banking apps support EPC QR codes?

Support is widespread in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and Finland, and growing elsewhere in the SEPA area. Customers open their banking app's scan-to-pay feature.

### Is my IBAN sent to Kizmo?

No. Payment codes are generated entirely in your browser.
